And they’re on the hood? Can anyone explain this? I find port holes tacky, but I forgive them on Buicks because (I believe) that’s where they originated. I also understand that they haven’t been functional since like the 30s. But the bad math on this one is just unforgivable. [not my picture, but hers is identical]

I’d allow it even if it was just an open vent to the engine bay, i’m guessing those are just plastic stick ons.
i hate these like nothing else

They’re supposed to match either the number of cylinders on that side or number of notional exhaust ports - even if the exhaust isn’t on that side. Which means 3 is acceptable for four cylinders... probably. Shared ports. If not, take it up with LaSalle.

They are not functional in any way.

They should have just stuck V8 badges on it. Come to think of it, it IS turbo, and is not labeled as such.

DID SOMEONE SAY PORT HOLES?!
Not the first time I’ve posted about this guy (maybe a year ago) but I found him again about a week ago.
He also has 3 on each fender.
By my count there’s 1 missing then. 1 set of 3 on each fender, 2 sets of 3 + 1 on each side of the ford badge.
It’s probably on his forehead.
I hope it’s on his forehead.

I'm going with probably not. I applaud your attempt, though.

Hey, I had an example handy of 5x2 portholes on 8 cylinders, there was no way I was letting it go to waste.

I wonder what he thinks those things are. Does he think they're giant adult bedazzler kits?

Lollllll. On the bright side, at least GM saved you a few pennies on amortized cost/complexity for engine-specific hoods :P

So often I see them applied ‘wrong’ so that the longer sides are on the outside.

I don’t know but I’m serious, I’ve seen him multiple times and it’s never any less horrifying.

yep i see that too. I used to work at a truck shop (mostly simple performance stuff and work accessories) it blew my mind how many people would buy those things.

I’m actually impressed (pun!) that, based on the reflections, the sheet metal was actually stamped to accommodate them. So they're not just stick-ons. I mean, I still don't like them but at least it was a concerted effort in design and engineering.
